Stiochiometry Laboratory Essay

IB Chemistry 2

-Design a great experiment relating to or using the principles of stoichiometry.

Background Information

-Stoichiometry is the analyze of the quantitative relationships between reactants and products. You can calculate or predict the quantity of reactants required or merchandise will be manufactured from a balanced equation with some regarded quantitative physical properties. Stoichiometry was first introduced to chemistry simply by Jeremias Dernier-ne Richter via Germany back in the 18th century. Richter carried out some of the initial determinations in the quantities by weight of acid-base saturation and decided that it could take comparable amount of different bases to saturate a particular acid of the same quantity. Idea has made important contribution to chemistry.

Study Question

-Magnesium reacts with hydrochloric acidity. If you raise the amount of magnesium included with hydrochloric acid solution will it replace the mass of the initial item? Hypothesis

-If you improve the amount of magnesium added to hydrochloric acidity then it raises the amount of mass of the primary product.

-Independent Changing: amount of magnesium.

Centered Variable: the mass with the product of magnesium added to hydrochloric acid solution.

Control: the amount of hydrochloric acid in each trial.

-The supplies used in this experiment were test pipes, a beaker, a range, goggles, stop watch, magnesium, and hydrochloric chemical p.

-Before starting the lab you need to find the following components: test pontoons, a beaker, a size, goggles, stopwatch, magnesium, and hydrochloric acidity. Weigh the empty person test tubes.

Step 1- put you gram of magnesium into a test tube.

Step 2- add 10mL of hydrochloric acid for the test pipe.

Step 3- wait 30 seconds for the reaction to be completed with the stop watch.

Step 4- weigh the new product for the scale.

Step 5- take away the weight of the beaker from the beaker and new product in...
